The plot of this movie revolves around Theodore Twombly, who develops a friendship with Samantha, an artificially intelligent virtual assistant who communicates via a female voice(not a real doll with a human-like mannequin head). This friendship is the focal point of the narrative.

Theodore suffers from intimacy issues as he is socially isolated, introverted, and going through depression. Meanwhile, he works as a professional writer for a firm where the majority of his colleagues are also writers.

Customers who are unable to compose letters of a personal nature on their own are encouraged to enlist the assistance of these writers, who are assigned with the responsibility of creating letters on the customers' behalf. The situation in Theodore's life takes a turn for the worse as he and his wife, Catherine, are getting a divorce in the not too distant future. Theodore decides to upgrade his operating system in order to include a virtual assistant that is driven by artificial intelligence. His new virtual assistant has the ability to learn new things over time, and can continue to improve itself. This choice is made so that he would be able to cope with the repercussions of his solitude in a more effective manner.

Theodore desires that the artificial intelligence to have a female voice, thus she has given herself the name Samantha in response to his request (coincidently we also have love doll head by the same name). The possibility that this lady would learn new skills and grow psychologically is something that Theodore finds really fascinating. They end up falling in love with one another as a result of the converstions they have about love, which help them establish a deep connection to each another.

The Heart is Not Like a Box

Films like this are very uncommon.

A film with a lot of potential, but one that manages to hold the attention of the audience without sacrificing its central conceit.

There is a tinge of irony in this situation. In spite of the film's brilliant deconstruction of human relationships (brilliant, and better than all Woody Allen's films combined), the sequential "connections" with the viewer (i.e., experiences that every viewer can relate to), which in turn keep empathy going long after initial sci fi "wow" is gone, are what keep the film's audience invested.

What do you think of Scarlett Johansson as a performer after seeing this? Actress Lucy Lawless is a woman who has evolved to the point where she transcends the boundaries of human development in both the Marvel and LUCY flicks. Another time, she takes on the role of an OS that defies the laws of reality.

Set in the near future, "Her" is a sci-fi film. Joaquin Phoenix plays Theodore, a lonely and emotionally deprived guy. Even though he lives in a large metropolis, he seems to be a recluse. One day, he chooses to switch to a new operating system that promises to be very clever and even has a personality of its own. Apparently, this is the case in addition to everything else I had suspected. In fact, Samantha (Scarlett Johansson), the operating system on Theodore's computer, is so much like a person that she gradually becomes everything to him and even his girlfriend. It's a long, winding road to where all of this is going, but it's a beautiful one.

Even though it's a science fiction picture, there aren't any unrealistic elements in it. Such a connection seems to be a safe option in today's frequently detached and chilly environment. Although not healthy, it might be a safe haven for someone who craves closeness but is frightened to seek it because of past trauma. The film, in my opinion, conveys an important message on this topic and is definitely worth viewing. My only gripe with the video is that it's a little too raunchy for young viewers, including phone love and a little amount of nudity. Not to mention, there are instances when the movie has a spooky vibe about it. Good...but it's a little depressing and unnerving at the same time.. Spike Jonze's film is a masterpiece, and Phoenix's portrayal is intriguing.
